Collaborator Role Guide

This document outlines what you can expect from DARE Collective and what we expect from you in your collaborative role.

General Responsibilities

  1. Identify Project Opportunities: Share any relevant project ideas that align with our organization's mission and expertise. Being a DARE collaborator does not guarantee involvement in projects. Be proactive in finding opportunities where your skills can have an impact, and where collaboration can lead to an even broader impact.

  2. Respond to Calls to Contribute: Your willingness to participate in projects that align with your skill set is crucial to maximizing our collective impact. Due to the size of the collective, in many cases where multiple people have overlapping expertise, project participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who demonstrate interest first will be integrated into the project first.

Please note that the responsibilities mentioned above do not apply to collaborating advisors, specialists in areas outside of marketing, who play an ad hoc consultative role within the DARE. They provide guidance in an ad hoc manner, rather than actively engaging in projects.

What DARE Collective Offers

  • Networking: You'll be part of a dedicated team of marketing and marketing-adjacent professionals who share your passion for social good and boast a wealth of experience working for some of the world's most renowned organizations across industries.

  • Learning: Our team brings decades of experience in advertising, design, and digital strategy to the table, offering a wealth of knowledge you can learn from.

  • Experience: Gain experience working with a truly global network of professionals united by common interests.

  • Visibility: You can freely mention your collaboration with DARE on your CV, in media appearances, etc., as long as you're truthful about the details.

  • Free Resources: We aim to eventually develop a library of free resources and training materials to help you further develop your skills.

What We Expect from Collaborators

  • Commitment: We ask for your dedicated involvement throughout the collaboration. This includes attending meetings you commit to participate in, providing timely feedback, and actively participating in the strategic planning process. We understand illness and other unforeseen circumstances may cause delays, and these will of course be excused.

  • Open Communication and Shared Vision: Clear and open communication about DARE, its goals, and enthusiasm for our mission is key to a successful collaboration.

  • Flexibility: We work in a dynamic environment, and adjustments may be necessary during the collaboration. We appreciate your willingness to adapt and embrace new ideas.

Additional Notes

There is no minimum amount of hours expected. We leave it to your discretion to contribute as much time and effort as you feel comfortable with.

DARE does not have any responsibility to match collaborators to projects. Individual collaborators' participation is determined by the fit of their particular skills with the needs of the incoming project proposals, including those submitted by collaborators themselves, and how quickly they respond to a call to action.

We encourage open communication and feedback. Let us know if there's anything we can do to better support your experience either informally or via hello@dare-collective.org.
